Description
Length: upto 80 cm long, 1.5-2 mm broad

Color: Light green

Plants primarily attached on rocks, later free flosting, filiform, tubular. Thallus repeatedly brached in all directions, cylindrical or compressed with narrow branchlets; cells of the thallus more or less quadrangular in shape with a single cup shaped chloroplast.

Parthenogenesis is reported in this species. This would lead to new respective sexual plant.

They are found in estuaries when there is pollution.
