Description
Zoarium very large, commonly tubular and hemescharan; covered by a thick brown epitheca on both surfaces. Zooecia also large, in regular longitudinal lines, with distinct marginal valleys; rather flat, reticulato-punctate. Orifices large, slightly constricted laterally, usually widest proximally. Condyles often vestigial and not visible in frontal view. Lyrula and proximal teeth wanting. Avicularia lateral oral, on one or both sides, generally small and sub-circular. Large horizontal frontal avicularia rare. Ovicells not or hardly projecting beyond the general frontal level. Basal surface with scattered minute pores, sometimes with small pore-chambers inconstant in position. Opercula widest basally, the basal sclerite incomplete, represented only by its lateral portions.
