Description
Carpus (and sometimes the propodite also) of the four last pair of legs strongly bicarinate dorsally - the crests enclosing a trough-like cavity.

Carapace convex in anterior two-thirds, flat behind. Wings of carapace divided into about five lobules by less deep cut and less smooth channels. The whole carapace covered with miliary granules, which on the lateral lobes of the gastric region are arranged in lines that have an intricate look. Front bilaminar, the fore edge of the lobes thickened and granular. Antero-lateral border thickened and granular, cut into small irregular teeth 8 or 9 in number, which fall into 4 sets. Chelipeds unequal; Upper and outer surface of wrist and hand wrinkled and granular. Fringer little toothed, incurved, blunt pointed and hollowed. Legs rough, but not very hairy. Upper surface of carpopodites with two high longitudinal crests enclosing a trough like space.
