Description
Dorsal surface of carapace uneven; areolae of granules being respectively well marked and convex; spine at inner angle of wrist, two thirds as long as palm.

The carapace length is nearly ¾ the breadth without the lateral spines. The frontal teeth are blunt and the epistome is not produced. The last spine of the antero-lateral border is hardly twice the length of any of the others. The costae of the wrist and hand are low, and the spine at the inner angle of the wrist is about two-thirds the length of palm.

This species is close to Portunus gladiator and it differs from enormous development of the spine at the inner angle of the wrist.
