Size: Thickness 6 mm and maximum width 7.5 cm.

Color: Black.

Hard and incompressible when dry.
Spicules: 1) Strongyloxeas. Straight or slightly curved, size up to 1.5 x 0.04 mm. 2) Styles. Head prominent; size 0.29 x 0.008 mm.
