Description
Length of carapace: 46 mm.
Breadth of carapace: 66 mm.

Color: Dark reddish or violet brown, fingers of chelipeds black, teeth and tips white.

Carapace rough, wrist and palm rugose or reticulated. Branchial regions traversed by two ridges, which run respectively from the 3rd and 4th anterolateral lobes.
Carapace surface finely pitted but not rough, a good deal rugulose and finely eroded just inside the antero-lateral borders. Gastric region fairly well defined and incompletely subdivided into three areole. Front cut into 4 equidistant teeth. Antero-lateral border rather faintly divided into 5 lobes, of which the first two are broad and rounded and the last three are bluntly acuminate. The upper and outer surfaces of both wrists and of the smaller hand, and the upper surface of the larger hand are reticulate-regulose. Legs stout, the last three joints and part of the under surface of the meropodites of all are tomentose.
