Size: 53-57 cm.

Voice: Harsh wee-loo or peep-peep.

Habits: Genrally in pairs or small parties occasionally in company of Crab Plover, crepuscular.

Sexes alike. Slightly larger than Great Stone-Plover, but distinguished by comparatively heavy and straighter bill, lacking white surround to eye, and black forehead and lores.
