Size: 50 cm.

Color: In preserved specimens brownish with traces of lighter longitudinal stripes. Soft dorsal with dark marmorations.

Height 2.6-2.8, 3.1-3.2 in length with caudal. Head 2.6 -2.7, 3-3.1 in length with caudal. Eye 3.8-4.4, somewhat more or less than inter orbital space, 2.4 in snout, Mouth large, slightly oblique. Maxillary reaching to below anterior border of eye. Canines curved, rather large, lateral teeth conical with rounded tips. Fifth dorsal spine longest, somewhat longer than eye and less than longest soft dorsal rays. Second and third anal same length, slightly less than longest soft dorsal spine and much less than longest soft anal rays, which are longer than base of soft anal. Pectorals longer than ventrals, somewhat shorter than head. Caudal moderately incised, the lobes rounded.
