Description
Size: Length 3-10 mm.

Color: On the back of the head, a conspicuous patch of reticulate purplish brown pigment. A transverse dorsal band at the posterior end of the buccal segment.

Tubes cylindrical covered with small sand grains. Prostomium and peristomium fused, first three thoracic segments with capillary setae only. First two abdominal segments longer, abdomen with notopodial capillaries and neuropodial bidentate hooks. The suceeding eight diminish only slightly in length, but the three posterior are much shorter. Dorsal capillary setae and ventral hooks in all the abdominal segments. The hook are bidentate and arranged in irregular transverse rows. Five pairs of thread glands in the first five segments. Tubes cylindrical, covered with smalll quartz grains.
