Description
Length: 215.5 µm-600 µm

Quite common, elongate with a broad but pointed posterior. A curved anterior apex and peribuccal fossa are absent. The neck region is short and the buccal area is thin. The head region is filled with dark granules, hence the origin of the name. There are two macronuclei with an intercalated micronucleus.
