Length: 80-350 ┬Ám.

Very common, elongate, takes the form of a flattened cylinder. A flattened band with trichocysts is present around the periphery of the cell. Large trichites are present in the anterior and peribuccal papillae are present. Sharply pointed bristles emerge all around the cell. Four spherical macronuclei are present, together with a row of contractile vacuoles near the dorsal edge.
