Size: Length 84 cm

Shell is large. Anterior slope extends upto half of ventral margin. Anterior disc is broad. It is sculptured with coarsely denticulate ridges. The median and posterior disc is narrow. Auricle is greatly reduced. Apophysis is flattened, umbonal area broad, condyles well developed. Pallets are asymmetric with broad, smooth basal portion. Blades are often covered with periostracum. Upper portion of the blade is composed of fused, close set, eroded cones. Tips of the pallets are postulate. Inner face of the cones is distally marked. Upper cones are more or less fused.

It is the largest known estuarine species.
