Description
Size: 2 - 4 cm.

Color: External colour variable, usually light bluish, grey, fawn or pink with two darker broad spiral bands within which there may be dark brown blotches, one band near the centre and the other at the anterior end, fine interrupted spiral lines of white and brown encircle the body whorl, spire marked by brown to dark brown blotches between the shoulder nodules, deep interior blue-white becoming purple brown near the margin, outer lip is white.

Small, squat heavy shell, up to 4 cm, with slight nodules on shoulders of whorls. Solid, wide and stout, spire coronate, strongly spirally striate, of medium height, sharply pointed, with slightly concave sides, body whorl with angulate, circular arranged nodules on whorls, nodulose shoulders and slightly convex sides, sculptured with fine beaded spiral cords which are strongest anteriorly where there may be tiny pits in the grooves.
