Description
Size: Length 0.6 – 0.7 mm and body diameter 0.1 mm.

Body transparent, with distinct head and somatic segments. Head triangular, with pointed anterior end and broad posteriorly. Ciliated anal cone present at the posterior end. Conspicuous ciliary girdles occur, 2 on head and 8 on trunk. Two dark bean-shaped eyes present on head between the 2 ciliary girdles, sexual diamorphism present, the male being much reduced in size compared to the female. Gonads paired, occurring on either side of the intestine. Epipelic in distribution.
