Description
Color: Polyps usually dark grey with pale oral discs, giving them an irregular but star-like quality.

Colonies form encrustations in which the polygonal or rounded corallites (2-10 mm across) are flush with the surface, tightly packed and have prominent, radiating septa. Like Favites, common walls are shared between adjacent corallites.

Gonochoric, sexual, broadcast spawning.
