Size: 170 mm.

Color: Olive green, belly yellowish. Head with irregular blackish spots. Two longitudinal blackish streaks from eye to maxillary. Body with blackish spots. Fins yellowish. First dorsal fin with 3-4, second dorsal fin with 5-6 longitudinal streaks. In middle of base of caudal fin a blackish dot. Pectoral fin on upper part of base with a blackish spot.

Body elongate, anteriorly cylindrical, posteriorly compressed, height 4 2/5 - 4 2/3 in length, 5 1/2 - 6 in total length. Head obtusely convex, 3 1/4 - 3 3/4 in length, profile convex. Eye 4 1/2-5 in head, inter orbital 3/4 - 1 eye diameter. Snout obtusely convex, longer than eye, tip below margin of eye. Lips thick. Upper jaw prominent. Maxillary extends to below anterior margin of eye or not so far. Teeth in upper jaw o outer row a little enlarged, in lower jaw equal. Tongue bilobate. Head scaled above behind eye and long upper margin of opercle, sometimes some scales on posterior part of cheek. Scales on opercle, breast and belly cycloid, on occiput and rest of body ctenoid. Distance between dorsal fins less than diameter of eye. Second, third and fourth rays of first dorsal fin are the longest. Second dorsal and anal fin lower than body, pointed posteriorly. Pectoral fin obtuse, longer than head without snout. Ventral fin obtuse, a little or not shorter than pectoral fin. Caudal fin obtusely truncate, shorter than head.
