Description
Max length : 21.0 cm TL

Color: Body is white with two broad oblique dark-brown bands running across the body from the dorsal fin to the abdomen and anal fin. A short brown band runs from the top of the head to the eye. The soft portion of the dorsal fin and the caudal fin are yellow, ventral fin black, a black bar above eye.

Body compressed and elevated, subrhomboidal. Under side of head more rounded. Depth 1.5, head 4.9 in standard length. Eye 2.0 in head length, slightly longer than the snout. Front of dorsal fin extended as a long filament.
Dorsal spines (total): 12 - 13; Dorsal soft rays (total): 23 - 25; Anal spines: 3; Anal soft rays: 17 - 19.

Oviparous. Form pairs during breeding. Fertilization external.
