Description
Max length : 30.0 cm TL

Color: Overall color is yellowish grey with a large black spot bordered below by a broad white band on the back, and wavy blue lines on the lower sides, a short narrow black bar through eye, edge of caudal peduncle with a narrow brown band.

Body compressed, oval. Depth 1.65, head 3.3 in standard length. Eye 4.8 in head. Rostro-dorsal profile strongly concave before eye; snout conical and pointed, much longer than eye. Cleft of mouth oblique. Preoperculum finely denticulated at its angle. Lateral line strongly arched. Dorsal and anal rounded posteriorly. Fourth and fifth ray of dorsal fin extending posteriorly into a filament.

Dorsal spines (total): 12 - 14; Dorsal soft rays (total): 21 - 25; Anal spines: 3; Anal soft rays: 20 - 23.

Oviparous.
