Size: 75 mm.

Color: Blue, including the vertical fins, but the caudal may be yellowish. A dark line from snout, through eye to superior part of opercle, another from snout to lower border of eye. One or two similar bands on preopercle. Scales of body often with black spots.

Height 2.3-2.5. Head 3.4-3.5. Eye 3. Snout shorter than eye. Preorbital and suborbital without scales. No notch between the two bones. Two transverse rows of scales on preopercle. A narrow inferior preopercular limb naked. Teeth uniserial. Scales on upper part of head reaching to between eyes. Median dorsal spines slightly longer than anterior and posterior ones. Membranes between the spines deeply incised. Second anal spine equal to postorbital part of head. Caudal slightly emarginate, almost truncate.
