Prostomium snout-like; buccal tentacles smooth, arise from a horizontal shelf in the roof of the mouth. Branchiae in 2 groups of 4, each united basally; inner 2 pairs with 2 rows of long lateral lamellae. Fine acicular neurosetae on segments 3 and 5 but not on 4; stout notopodial hooks on segment 4. Small notopodial capillaries on segment 5 and 6. Thirteen uncinigerous thoracic segments starting from segment 7.
