Size: 13 cm.

Color: Brown above, silvery minutely dotted with brown, dorsal usually blackish, the other fins more or less hyalin or dusky, their peripheral portion may also be blackish.

Height conspicuously less than length of head which goes nearly 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 in length. Eye 2 2/3 to 3 3/4 in head and about twice in postorbital part of head. Interorbital space convex, broader than diameter of eye. Upper jaw reaching to middle of eye. Occipital appendage reaching to dorsal. First dorsal and anal lobe much higher than second. Enlarged and elongated ventral rays may reach on second anal lobe. Upper part of pectorals somewhat prolonged, about equal to head without snout.
