Size: 80 mm.

Color: Body greenish olive yellow on belly; six rather indistinct darker bands descend obliquely from the back towards the belly, the anterior dorsal grayish, the other fins reddish.

Body very elongate, height 6.5 in total length. Head 4.5 in total length. Eye 4.5 in head, close together. Snout as long as eye. Six canines in front of upper jaw. Scales cycloid, on head and anterior part of body rudimentary, with flat, rounded tubercles. Third ray of first dorsal fin filiform. Pectoral fin rather short. Caudal fin rhomboid.
