Size: 105 mm.

Color: Light brown to blackish brown, light below, transverse stripes on body. First dorsal fin with broad white margin, below it a broad black submarginal band, below which a white stripe, or a row of white dots. Base grayish with white dots. Second dorsal fin with broad white margin, below which a light brown to dark brown longitudinal band. Base grayish to light brown, with white markings. Anal fin uncolored.

Body elongate, depth 6.5 in total length, head 5 in total length. Teeth in upper jaw in one row. Dorsal fin separate with 26 rays, anal fin with 12 rays. first dorsal fin concave, posteriorly convex, the first ray is the longest. Anal fin lower than second dorsal fin. Basal membrane of ventral fin very weakly developed or absent. The two halves of the fin are nearly separated, a very narrow membrane is mostly present. Caudal fin obliquely rounded.
