Description
Max. size: 90.0 cm TL

Color: Body brownish above, silvery below with 19 acutely angled chevron shaped marks on sides; caudal and spinous dorsal fin blackish, second dorsal, pectoral and anal fins dusky, pelvic fin hyaline. Caudal fin largely blackish.

Depth 8.1, head 3.1 in SL; eye 6.6 in head length. Preopercle edge obliquely rounded, teeth on jaws slanted backwards, last ray of dorsal and anal fins longer than penultimate rays.
Body shape elongated. No gill rakers on first arch, upper and lower gill arch with rough platelets, each platelet not bearing distinct spine. Dorsal spines (total): 6 - 6, Dorsal soft rays (total): 9 - 9, Anal spines: 2, Anal soft rays: 7 - 9.
