Description
Size: Maximum total body length 25 cm; maximum carapace length 8 cm.

Color: Uniformly muddy gray.

Body strongly depressed and lamellate; carapace broader than long; eyes situated at outer angle of carapace; margins of carapace indented but not incised at cervical groove; carapace and abdomen studded with transverse rows of tubercles on first five segments; a slight median ridge, extending from second to fifth abdominal segment, ends in a sharp projecting point on fifth segment; fifth pair of legs in female not chelate.
