Size: Total length 49 mm.

Color: The general color of the living specimens of this species is usually smoky grey. All the carinae of the carapace, abdomen and telson are defined by very dark grey pigments. On the second abdominal somite there is frequently a dark dorsal patch and a similar patch is occasionally found on the fifth somite. The eyes are bright translucent green, darker at the inner dorsal end of the cornea. The last three segments of the raptorial claws are pure white, those of the appendages of the last three thoracic somites and portions of the uropods are greenish yellow. The ventral surface is uniformly pale.

Eyes small, cornea bilobed. Rostrum subquadrate, apex rounded, margins upturned. Anterior bifurcation of median carian of carapace uninterrupted. Dactylus of raptorial claw with 6 teeth, outer margin sinuous. Anterior lobe of lateral process of 5th thoracic somite produced into an anteriorly directed spine. Telson as long as broad, denticles large and rounded.
