Description
Size: 3.5 m

Color: Dark to olive brown above, lighter below, fin tinged with black.

Snake like body, depth of body about 40 times in total length; 3-4 in head length. Posterior nostril with low rim, anterior nostril short tubes. Teeth slender, fang-like. Pectoral fin absent. Dorsal and anal fin confluent with caudal fin. It is the largest known eel.
