Description
Size: 40.0 cm SL

Weight: 45 gm

Color: Body bluish above, silvery on sides and belly. The front of the snout is silvery with a blackish chin. Caudal fin is white with a median dark stripe and two broad oblique black bands across each lobe, the lobe tips are white. There is a dusky band in outer part of soft portion of dorsal fin except for white tip of high anterior part.

Fusiform shaped body. Depth of body about 2.7 times in standard length. Interorbital width about equal to eye diameter. Mouth moderate, with fine teeth in jaws and on palate. Gillrakers 23 to 25 on first arch. Dorsal fin deeply notched, with 10 spines and 10 or 11 soft rays. Anal fin with 3 spines and 10 to 13 soft rays. Caudal fin deeply forked.

Sexual reproduction, oviparous, external fertilization.
