Description
Size: 11.2 cm.

Color: In alcohol specimen greenish, fins yellowish-red.

Height somewhat more than 3, 4.3 in length with caudal. Head 3.5, 4.7 in length with caudal. Eye 3.5. Snout scaly, shorter than eye. Interorbital space almost equal to eye. Mouth oblique, lower jaw projecting. Maxillary reaching to below posterior half of eye. Maxillary scales larger than frontal ones. Teeth in upper jaw pluriserial, those of the outer rows larger and conical and with a moderate canine in front, teeth of inner rows small, one or two small canines in front. Teeth of lower jaw small, pluriserial, a canine on the middle of each ramus and a small canine near symphysis. Vomerine teeth in a triangular patch, those of palatines in a narrow band. Angle of praeoperculum rounded. Hind border and angle serrated, about 4 larger serrations at angle. Lower border smooth. Praeopercular limb scaly. Suboperculum and interoperculum serrated. Three opercular spines, the upper one scarcely visible. Anterior and middle dorsal spines shorter than the posterior ones, which are as long as soft dorsal rays. Soft dorsal obtusely angulate. Membrane between spines of dorsal hardly emarginate, that between soft rays scaly at base. Second anal spine longest, longer than dorsal spine, soft anal pointed. Pectorals about equal to ventrals, nearly as long as head. Caudal slightly emarginate, with the outer rays prolonged. Scales without squamulae.
