Description
Shell auriform, spire depressed, body whorl large, smooth, oblique, anteriorly expanded, posteriorly narrowed. Outer surface purple color, maculated with white, semitriangular spots. Interior nacreous, lower part of body whorl with fine spiral gooves. Foot very large, cream color; without operculum.

The snail has a tendency to shed part of its foot when disturbed.
