Description
Carapace square, deep, strongly convex from before backwards and moderately so from side to side. Surface covered uniformly with bubble like small granules. Gastric and cardiac regions separated by grooves. Outer orbital corner prominent, right angular. Chelipeds markedly unequak, length of stridulating ridge on inner side of palm, more than half of the breadth of larger palm, this ridge consists of striae only, hairs scanty. Fingers of the smaller chelipeds broad, thin, tips also broad and blunt.
Ocypode macrocera specimens can be separated from its nearest allies in having broad and blunt finger tips of the smaller chelaeped.
