Size: 4.5 cm.

Color: Dark tan or brown with a white or yellow spiral band which, on the body whorl, may reach the suture, interior white or greyish brown.

Variable in form, usually stoutly biconical or fusiform, 7-8 slightly convex whorls with deeply impressed and sometimes shouldered suture, aperture lenght greater than spire height, outer lip thickened, margin crenulate, columella calloused, with 4-6 folds, siphonal notch deep, sculptured with strong or weak spiral cords, 3-8 on the penultimate whorl and 16-28 on the body whorl, separated by deep or shallow grooves.
