Size: Length 56.50-104.75 mm; diameter 38.90-72.30 mm; length of aperture 46.70-88.30 mm; length of spire 20.55-40.75 mm.

Color: Grey-brown, some of the spiral cords darker giving a lined effect, interrupted by white spots, lip edge dark brown, interior cream, lirae orange-brown, columella white or yellow with a brown outer margin.

Ovate, solid, sculpture consisting of fine but rough spiral cords. Shell large, oblong, spire acute, short, consists of three whorls, body whorl large inflated, oblong, aperture large oval, outer lip margin crenulate, interior with dark grooves, border dark chocolate brown, enameled. Columella flattened, slightly twisted, grooved, calloused posteriorly. Anal sulcus wide, deep, siphonal canal short, wide open. Sculpture with broad and narrow ridges, alternate ridges with white and brown bands, posterior part of columella with dark brown blotch, not found in young shells, operculum oblong, chitinous, margin thickened.
