Description
Size: Length 26.72-90.70 mm; diameter 15.31-42 mm; length of spire 8.12-19.35 mm; length of aperture 7.10-15.05 mm; length of the canal 12.66-58.30 mm.
Color: Ivory to golden brown, intervarical nodules pale, outer lip with red-brown spots behind the notches; creamy white, apeture white; operculum thin, horny reddish brown with excentric nucleus.
Spire high, suture simple, crossed by minute frilled axial lamellae, conical protoconch of 3 ½ whorls, teleoconch of up to eight whorls, with three primary spines on the body whorl varixes, the shoulder spine longest (it may be extremely long), three downward-pointing intermediary secondaries and randomly developed tertiary spinelets, siphonal canal with 4-5 rather short major spines, downward-pointing secondaries usually present, outer lip notched, labral tooth small, inner lip erect for almost the entire length, operculum red-brown, nucleus subterminal, concentrically ridged.
