Description
Size: 40-70 mm.

Color: Dark brown, columella fawn, interior brown.

Flared lip, strong axial ribs crossed by deep spiral grooves, interior aperture is brown. Whorls with low axial folds, base of shell with numerous spiral cords, outer lip reflexed, partly occluding (but not surrounding) the canal, columella with a small parietal ridge and a callus beside the anterior canal. Thick, heavy, conical shell with long pointed spire, up to 12cm. Whorls with strong axial ribs crossed by deeply incised spiral grooves.
