Description
Size: Length of carapace 59 mm; breadth of carapace 90 mm

Color: Pinkish, the fingers of the chelipeds yellow

This species is distinguished by the smoothness of the carapace in the adult, the extreme length of which is about two-third its extreme breadth. Carapace with longitudinal ridges broad and distinct at the middle; front 4 mm in length, lobes acute at their apices. The clypeiform expansions are well-developed, their free margins being strongly laciniate. There is no spine on the posterior border of the carapace in the middle. The anterior border of the endostomial septum is deeply concave.Pterygostomial region densely covered with hairs. Wrist and palm almost smooth at the outer surface; crest of palm strongly toothed.

In the female specimen, there is a curved line of red ocelli present during life; this disappears in spirit. Also, there is a toothed ridge near the lower border of the palm.
