Length: 30-50 ┬Ám.

Ovoid to pyriform with a slight median constriction giving the living animal a slightly reniform appearance. The buccal area is conspicuous with a well-formed undulating membrane. Somatic ciliation is uniform, the anterior apex of the cell is slightly flattened and is without cilia. A caudal cilium is present. Trichocysts are prominent in the pellicle. The macronucleus is spherical. There is a single contractile vacuole in the posterior.
