Description
Size: 23cm in length.

Color: silvery

maxilla reaches to below the anterior third or middle of the orbit. Its lengthis nearly half of that of the head. Lower jaw is very prominent. Teeth are present on jaws, tongue, palatine and pterygoid bones. Pectoral fin issomewhat longer than the head. Caudal fin is forked. Scales are very deciduous. 28 to 32 spines are present along the lower profile. There are 28 gill rakers, nearly as long as the eye. Pseudobranchiae are well developed.
