Filaments irregularly curved, entangled together forming blue-green expanded, free-floating, flexous thallus; Sheath thin, hyaline smooth, yellowish green unlamellated or slightly lamellated at the origin of branches; False branches sparse mostly germinate sometimes single; Heterocyst absent; Trichomes light blue-green, not constricted at the cross walls; Cell shorter than broad; Cell contents light blue-green, homogenous with irregularly distributed granules; Gas-vacuoles distributed towards periphery; End cells broadly rounded; Cell wall smooth, thin.
