Color: Grey or yellowish white with numerous brown and also smaller white dots. 6 or 7 patches on tail, covered with dark spots and one or more spots on the body. Snout is dark with light ring. Each spine is black at the tip.

Coronet of the species is high with five spines, and a tubercle anteriorly in front of which there is another spine. Snout is slender, as long as the distance between the front margin of the orbit and the first nauchal spine, Two strong spines are above the posterior and one above the anterior margin of the orbit, 2 spines below the center of the orbit and one behind the middle of its posterior edge. All the tubercles are in the form of slender and pointed spines except those on the end of te tail.
