Description
Color: Blackish brown, orange or yellowish brown

Thalli woolly, widely expanded. Filaments (22) 25-35 µm in diameter, sparsely false-branched, variously bent or curved. Sheath about 5-8 µm in thickness, firm, close, often yellowish or orange, homogeneous, smooth or rough on the surface. Trichomes 10-14 µm in diameter, cross walls not constricted. Cells quadrate or shorter than broad. Heterocysts intercalary, generally cylindrical.
