Description
Color: Blue-green to reddish

Thalli cushion-like or aggregating in erect fascicles, 1-2 mm in thickness. Filaments 12-17 (22) µm in diameter, false branches long, flexuous, aggregated. Sheath firm, thin, hyaline or becoming orange, yellowish with age. Trichomes 9-12 µm in diameter, cross walls not constricted. Cells compressed to quadrate. Heterocysts intercalary, nearly quadrate, cell contents green or becoming reddish.
