Color: Whitish throughout.

Shell narrow, right valve bears a tongue like prolongation, the edge of which bears a sharp, recurved, teeth-like processes; left valve deeper and bears a terminal interior plate-like lamina, the nucleus of which is flattened and striated. There are two furrows on the surface of the valves; valves are divided into anterior part ornamented with concentric ridges and imbricate radial ribs, and a posterior part traversed by concentric ridges.
