Description
Erect or ascending annuals with yellow-coloured roots; stems branched, glabrous, gland-dotted, ascending or decumbent. Leaves broadly ovate, or ovate-oblong, shallowly sinuated, glabrous above, minutely scaled below, truncate at apex, cuneate at base. Flowers 1.5-1.8 cm long, yellow, in axillary solidary. Fruits ovoid-tetragonal, hard woody, with 4-sharp spines from the marginal angles; seeds 2 in each cell, superposed, pendulous.
