Description
Color: Colony reverse light yellowish.

Colonies moderately fast growing, with white aerial mycelium enveloping the cleistothecia. Cleistothecia mostly superficial, almost spherical, black, outer wall consisting of dark brown pseudoparenchymatous cells, normally not exceeding 144.0 µ in diameter. Asci octasporous, highly evanescent, oval to pyriform, generally 14.4-19.2 µ×8.0-9.6 µ. Ascospores broadly fusiform to elliptical to irregularly-shaped, slightly apiculate at the two ends, with a single polar pore, 5.6--10.4 µ X 4.0--6.4 µ. No asexual stage present.
