Description
Valves elliptical with three globular processes besides two linear side processes; middle large process has got a short horn on each valve; chromatophores numerous rounded bodies. Cells usually in chains formed by attachment of individual cells with mucilage pads at blunt end of their side processes; surface of valve finely striated.
