Size: 35-300 mm. by 2-10 mm.

Color: Very variable. Gills more or less streaked. Body brown.Tube mud colored

Moderately elongated, abruptly tapering behind. Two dorsal and two ventral lobes of the collar. Intermittent brown streaks on the branchial filaments.Abdomen with only dorsal uncini and ventral winged capillary setae. Tube tough and erect. Body cylindrical, abruptly tapering behind. Branchial lobes very unequal; one is circular and the other is 2-6 times spirally coiled. Two short slender grooved palps. Collar with two dorsal lobes and two ventral ones, thick and turned down. Pygidium with two small rounded papillae.
