Size: Colony length 186 µ and Breadth 142 µ.

Color: Yellow brown in color, not green.

It is a phytosynthetic species.
Cells conical, united to form flat ribbon-like bands, lying in girdle view: cells rectangular, with rounded corners, valves linear, elliptical, surface striate with transverse striae.

Reproduction is both sexual and asexual.
