Color: Yellow brown

Plants with smooth margins, marginal cells hyaline. Thalli friable, prostrate, irregularly dichotomously branched segments rather short, irregularly entangled with each other, often in compact clumps usually 3-4 cm in height, 3-6 mm broad, 100-160 ┬Ám thick. The apices of the branches rounded, rhizoids descending down throughout the lower side of thalli. Epidermal cells small, square, pigmented densely arranged, enveloping large, thick-walled, colorless medullary cells, longitudinally elongated. Sporangia in sori scattered on the branchlets of the fronds.
