Female: Body not very slender, dorsally beset with a few spinules. Cephalon with a minute rostrum; ocular lobes angular and projecting, rounded in front; eyes placed slightly away from front margin, large and oval, broader below and formed of dark-reddish central and lighter peripheral ocelli. Peraeon segments subequal in length, successively overlapping and moderately deep.
Coxae well developed. Antennae short; flagellum a little shorter than the peduncle, 8-segmented and carrying tufts of olfactory setae, accessory flagellum ½ the length of the main flagellum, 4-segmented, upper lip separated by a notch from the epistome, its rounded border prominently hairy. Mandible rather strong, elongated, incisor process distally expanded and rounded, lacinia mobilis cut into 4 teeth, spine row absent, molar obsolete, palp long, originating near base. Lower lip without inner lobes, outer lobes tall and very strongly hirsute distally, mandibular processes very long and slender. Inner lobe of maxilliped narrow, distally produced into a tooth-like prominence on the inside, outer lobe nearly oval.

Male: Very much like the female except for the 2nd antenna. Segments of the peduncle of antenna 2 short, flagellum long, 53-segmented, segments of the distal half armed with a few spinules on the ventral border.
